ETS-Lindgren understands that shielding requirements vary and all shielding applications do not require high levels of performance. ETS-Lindgren's Architectural Shielding Systems are customized to meet customer defined requirements using and assortment of shielding materials, doors and RF components to provide the ideal EMI/RFI solution to suit specific requirements.

ETS-Lindgren's provides an assortment of customizable Architectural Shielding Products made to suit any project's requirements. Utilizing a variety of shielding materials and products, ETS can design a shielding system to meet a customer's specific requirements. Whether a project requires low frequency, high frequency, minimal attenuation, or maximum attenuation level, ETS-Lindgren can design a shielding system to meet a project's specific requirements.

Based on a project's performance requirements, ETS-Lindgren will select the appropriate combination of materials, doors, and RF accessories to meet those requirements. Materials range from Flectron, a metalized, woven fabric material, to shielding foils to modular shielding panels.

ETS-Lindgren also provides an assortment of accessories for customizing shielding spaces for a variety of applications. This includes shielded windows, filters, and door controllers for automating door opening/closing and interfacing doors with building management systems.

Materials

ETS-Lindgren uses an assortment of materials, which are selected based upon project specific requirements. ETS-Lindgren utilizes metalized non-woven fabrics and shielding foil materials for projects requiring lower performance. These materials are easy to handle, sold in continuous rolls that are attached to rigid substrates using an adhesive to create a shielded barrier. The materials are lightweight and flexible allowing the shielding systems to be easily tailored to any space.

For applications requiring higher performance, ETS-Lindgren can provide modular shielding systems. The modular shielding systems consist of rigid panels and, while can be tailored to most applications, provide much higher lifetime performance in place of a bit less flexibility.

Applications

  • Architectural Shielding

  • SCIF
  • Security Applications
  • New Product Development Applications
  • Production, Testing, and Commissioning Applications

Standard Construction

The foil shielding materials can be applied over the contractor-provided drywall-covered walls and ceiling that have been painted or sealed. Vinyl-to-vinyl adhesive (or equivalent) is used to install the conductive material. The adhesive is applied to all wall and ceiling surfaces by roller, brush or by spraying. The floor shielding material is installed to a minimum of 7.62 cm (3 in) up on all existing room walls, thus forming a "pan" configuration on the floor. Multiple layers of shielding materials can be used around mechanical penetrations such as door frames, filters, and vents for a gasket effect. For best results, all surfaces should be smooth and clean before the application of the shielding product.
