ETS-Lindgren Introduces the Latest in Electric-Field Probe Technology

EMSense™ 40 Features a Frequency Response of 10 MHz to 40 GHz

CEDAR PARK, Texas – July 21, 2022 – ETS-Lindgren's latest addition to its Broadband Electric-Field (E-Field) Probe Series, EMSense 40, meets or exceeds the requirements for automotive, MIL-STD, and commercial EMC RF immunity standards.  The laser-powered EMSense 40 E-Field Probe embodies the latest innovations in isotropic-sensor design, as well as low-noise and miniaturized electronics.  Designed for a single probe frequency range of 10 MHz to 40 GHz, EMSense 40 can read data continuously over the entire broad dynamic range of 1 to 1000 V/m.  In addition, data values for each axis (X, Y, and Z) can be read individually or summed.  With its sleek, three-axis dipole design, the EMSense 40 offers frequency-corrected field values direct from the probe, without the need to externally apply correction factors.  Quality is assured using ETS-Lindgren’s in-house calibration capabilities with our A2LA-Accredited Calibration Lab

“Based on our decades of experience designing and manufacturing E-Field Probes, we understand how the isotropic sensor behavior of modern laser-powered E-Field Probes with low-noise and miniaturized electronics is essential to making accurate and repeatable measurements,” stated Steve King, ETS-Lindgren’s Product Line Manager, EME Devices.   “Aspects such as linearity, frequency response, temperature drift, speed, and non-isotropic behavior of the probe are all important parameters that, when understood, optimize the design.  You’ll notice that design expertise in our latest E-Field Probe, EMSense 40.”

EMSense 40 is the latest addition to ETS-Lindgren's Series of Broadband E-Field Probes, including EMSense™ 10, an E-Field Probe measuring field strengths from 1 to 750 V/m with a frequency response of 10 kHz to 10 GHz. “When using EMSense 10 and EMSense 40, testing is much more efficient, as the two probes cover a frequency range from 10 kHz to 40 GHz.  That is less instrumentation to maintain and calibrate, which most labs appreciate,” added Mr. King.

For additional convenience, ETS-Lindgren offers an EMSense™10/40 EMF Probe Plug-in Card, which provides an interface for ETS-Lindgren’s Laser-Powered E-Field Probes to the EMCenter™ Modular RF PlatformClick here for more information on ETS-Lindgren’s complete line of Probes and Monitors, your essential tools for reliable, repeatable, and accurate EMC testing.
