ETS-Lindgren Brings Practical Antenna Testing Insights to AMTA 2025 Regional Event

CEDAR PARK, Texas – May 15, 2025 – ETS-Lindgren, a pioneer in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Radio Frequency (RF) Testing Solutions, is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA) 2025 Regional Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at The Westin Tempe in Tempe, Arizona. Renowned for its expertise in test and measurement, ETS-Lindgren is poised to present an array of technologies and insights at this event.

As part of the technical program, Yibo Wang, RF Engineer with ETS-Lindgren, will present "The Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) Method and Its Application in Antenna Measurements" at 11:20 am. His talk will focus on EMD and the Hilbert–Huang Transform (HHT) — data-driven techniques designed for the analysis of non-linear and non-stationary signals. Unlike traditional methods such as Fourier or wavelet transforms, which depend on predefined basis functions, EMD extracts intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) directly from the data. This makes it exceptionally effective in dealing with complex signals commonly encountered in antenna measurements.

In antenna testing, performance characterization is often hindered by environmental noise and interference. By applying EMD, measured signals can be decomposed into multiple resolutions, enabling clearer identification of the true antenna response and improving the separation of desired signals from background noise. Dr. Wang’s presentation will cover the fundamental principles of EMD and demonstrate its practical value in improving signal analysis and enhancing the accuracy of antenna performance assessments.

To complement the presentation, ETS-Lindgren will host a dedicated booth featuring an extensive collection of technical literature.  Among the materials will be the comprehensive Test and Measurement Full Line Brochure, offering detailed insights into the company's diverse portfolio of Testing Solutions from automotive to wireless applications.  Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the complexities of wireless communication systems with the Wireless Solutions Brochure, explore the latest developments in RF and microwave technologies through the RF Microwave Product and Service Solutions Brochure, and gain insights into satellite testing methodologies with the Top 10 Considerations for Satellite Chamber Design and Testing Brochure.

"We’re excited about this year’s AMTA Regional Meeting program, which includes fresh technical insights and practical applications of emerging technologies such as EMD in antenna testing," said Janet O’Neil, Customer Relations Manager with ETS-Lindgren. "It’s a privilege to be part of an event that continues to push the boundaries of measurement science while fostering a strong sense of collaboration across the industry."

Attendees are encouraged to visit the ETS-Lindgren booth to engage with technical experts, explore state-of-the-art testing technologies, and discover how ETS-Lindgren's novel solutions can optimize their antenna testing processes.
