ETS-Lindgren Announces Technical Contributions to EMC+SIPI 2017

Automotive EMC, 5G Wireless, Calibration, and Time Domain Measurements to be Presented at Leading IEEE Symposium

CEDAR PARK, Texas, June 27, 2017 - ETS-Lindgren announced its technical contributions to the 2017 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Signal/Power Integrity (SI/PI) in Washington, DC. Symposium dates are August 7 to 11 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center located in nearby National Harbor, MD. The contributions include presentations in four tutorials and three papers as well as hardware and software demonstrations.

The tutorials start the morning of Monday, August 7 with ETS-Lindgrens Garth DAbreu presenting in the tutorial, Automotive EMC Updates on Measurement Techniques, Test Methodologies and Product Design. Mr. DAbreu will discuss test chamber options in a growing automotive RF environment. ETS-Lindgrens Zhong Chen will also present in this tutorial on common RF absorbers evaluations in the W Band (75-110 GHz). This tutorial will be featured as part of the technical content in the new EMC+SIPI 2017 Online Symposium.

On Monday afternoon, August 7, Mr. Chen will present in the tutorial, Update on Future Standard ANSI C63.25 for Test Site Validation above 1 GHz. Here he will discuss implications of site VSWR measurement uncertainties on radiated emissions measurements. Since the NEW ANSI C63.25 standard will be published in the coming year, this tutorial is especially timely for those interested in learning about fast and efficient test site validation techniques.

On Wednesday, August 9, ETS-Lindgrens Jari Vikstedt will present in the EMC for IoT tutorial on the topic of test challenges of smart antenna systems. This tutorial will also be featured as part of the technical content in the new EMC+SIPI 2017 Online Symposium.

The tutorial on Friday morning, August 11, EMC Management for Product Designers and Test Lab Managers Staying Competitive in Todays Quickly Changing Industry features Doug Kramer of ETS-Lindgren. Mr. Kramer will discuss antenna calibration and chamber maintenance. He will share current information on antenna calibration and provide best practice tips on chamber maintenance to achieve optimal chamber performance.

ETS-Lindgren engineers will also present three papers during the symposium. (Dates and times are yet to be announced.) Zhong Chen will present Site Contributions for Radiated Emission Measurement Uncertainty above 1 GHz. Zubiao Xiong will present Homogenization Modeling of Periodic Magnetic Composite Structures and Anoop Adhyapak will present Free Space Antenna Factor Computation Using Time Domain Gating and Deconvolution Filter for Site Validation of Fully Anechoic Rooms.

In addition to the ETS-Lindgren engineers presenting in the four tutorials and three papers noted above, Jari Vikstedt, Zhong Chen, and Jack McFadden will also present as part of the symposiums popular experiments and demonstrations program held in the exhibit hall. Mr. Vikstedt will present 5G Performance Measurements; Mr. Chen will present Time Domain Site VSWR Measurements; and Jack McFadden will present Incorporating Equipment Under Test (EUT) Monitoring within Immunity Testing. On special events during the symposium, ETS-Lindgren will provide a speaker at the ANSI C63 workshops scheduled for August 5 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Zhong Chen will present in the workshop on the recently published antenna calibration standard, ANSI C63.5-2017. This standard contains many changes since the last version published in 2006.
