GlobalEM 2024 Symposium on High-Power Electromagnetics: Registration Opens Monday, April 1

Reminder: One-Page Extended Abstract Paper Submittal Deadline is Friday, March 22

CEDAR PARK, Texas, March 18, 2024 – The SUMMA Foundation and ETS-Lindgren, co-hosts of the in-person GlobalEM 2024 Symposium, are pleased to announce registration for the Symposium will open on Monday, April 1.  Authors, attendees, exhibitors, and companions can register for the technical program, purchase a sponsorship opportunity or exhibition booth, purchase tickets for the social events, and more on the registration page.  Edl Schamiloglu, Distinguished Professor with The University of New Mexico and President of the SUMMA Foundation, said, “GlobalEM 2024 will take place from July 14 to 19 in downtown Austin, Texas, at the impressive AT&T Conference Center.  We are excited about reconnecting soon with the world’s global experts in high-power electromagnetics (HPEM) as the Symposium is returning to the United States for the first time since it was held in Santa Barbara, California, in 2018.  ETS-Lindgren has some exciting social events and a unique technical tour planned to complement the technical program.  We look forward to seeing you there!”

The Technical Program will follow past editions of the GlobalEM Symposium in featuring several plenary presentations of general interest to Symposium attendees.  Regular submitted papers in the 17 topical areas of HPEM will return as an integral part of this year’s technical program.  Industry expert William (Bill) A. Radasky, President and Managing Engineer of Metatech Corporation and Technical Program Committee (TPC) Chair, and Nicolas Mora, Ph.D., Research and Extension Directorate Advisor of the National University of Colombia and TPC Vice Chair, are poised to organize yet another outstanding technical program for which GlobalEM is well known.  Those interested in contributing to the technical program can view the many technical areas related to HPEM and paper submission details hereNote the submittal deadline for one-page extended abstract papers has been extended to Friday, March 22.

The Symposium concludes on Friday, July 19, with a Technical Tour of ETS-Lindgren’s world headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas, just north of Austin.  “Many people are not aware that ETS-Lindgren’s world headquarters is located in Cedar Park, Texas.  With more than 11,000 sq m (120,000 sq ft) of manufacturing, sales, service, and administration space, it’s an impressive facility to see for first-time visitors,” said Janet O’Neil, ETS-Lindgren’s Customer Relations Manager and Chair of the GlobalEM 2024 Organizing Committee.  “In addition to our indoor facility, we also have the largest outdoor open area test site in the United States to see on the tour.  To ensure state-of-the-art accuracy, our A2LA-Accredited Calibration Laboratory (Lab Cert #1207.01) is equipped with calibrated instrumentation traceable to National Metrology Institutes (NMI), several anechoic chambers, test cells, and an 80 m x 50 m (262 ft x 164 ft) welded steel ground plane for antenna calibration.  Our lab is kept busy not only servicing antennas, probes, and clamps manufactured by ETS-Lindgren, but by other manufacturers as well.  GlobalEM attendees will surely be interested in seeing our products designed and manufactured for protection against HPEM, High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP), and Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI). We look forward to ending the GlobalEM 2024 Symposium week with an educational tour, an ‘all-you-can-eat’ Texas-style lunch buffet, and a horseshoe toss competition.  Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes for the extensive technical tour,” Ms. O’Neil added.

Please note exhibition space at GlobalEM 2024 is nearly sold out.  Those interested in sponsorship and exhibit opportunities at the GlobalEM 2024 Symposium should contact Ms. O’Neil at janet.oneil@ets-lindgren.com or +1 512-531-2676 immediately.  A limited number of openings are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
