ETS-Lindgren Forges Strategic Partnership with TÜV Rheinland North America to Drive Technological Advancements

CEDAR PARK, Texas, August 3, 2023 -  ETS-Lindgren is pleased to announce its strategic alliance with TÜV Rheinland North America for its new Technology and Innovation Center located in Massachusetts. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 65,000 square feet, will serve as a dynamic hub for comprehensive trainings, advanced laboratory testing, and collaborative office space. Industry leaders, including AMETEK-CTS, Fair-Rite, Innova, and Rohde & Schwarz, are key supporting partners in the creation of the Technology and Innovation Center. With the cooperation of ETS-Lindgren and these industry leaders, TÜV Rheinland will facilitate the integration of essential equipment, enabling the delivery of holistic customer solutions.

A focal point of the Technology and Innovation Center is the FACT™ 10-5.0 Plus EMC Chamber designed and installed by ETS-Lindgren.  With overall dimensions of 22 m x 14 m x 10 m and a 5 m quiet zone, the chamber is fully equipped to enable testing to a wide variety of industry electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.  Testing of small-to-large products, including full vehicles, is made possible with the 4.6 m x 3.7 m fully automatic pneumatic sliding equipment door. Entrance to the chamber includes an automatic ramp/lift system providing a zero-threshold transition into the chamber.  The ramp is rated for a 9,000 Kg (20,000 lb) load.  The chamber also includes a 1.2 m x 2.1 m personnel door.  Inside the chamber, full coverage is provided with DuraSorb™ Hybrid Absorber.  The impressive turntable has a 6 m diameter with a 9,000 Kg (20,000 lb) load rating.  ETS-Lindgren furnished all accessories such as power line filters, lighting, wave guide air vents, connector panels, etc., for a complete turn-key system. “We took a hard-hat tour of the Technology and Innovation Center last month and were impressed by the scope of the project,” said ETS-Lindgren’s Kevin Baldwin, Director, Regional Sales – Americas East.  “The attention to detail in the design of the facility, as well as the creativity in anticipating the needs of those who will be using the facility, showed the commitment of TÜV Rheinland to serving the EMC community. We are honored to be a part of this ground-breaking effort to foster innovation by connecting multiple facets of the EMC industry.”

During the 2023 IEEE International Symposium on EMC + SIPI Symposium held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jonathan Kotrba, TÜV Rheinland North America's Vice President of Products Americas, expressed his enthusiasm for the strategic alliances: "We are thrilled to join forces with renowned industry players, as this collaboration empowers us to offer our customers an extensive range of advanced equipment and training. Manufacturers can now conduct comprehensive EMC testing, optimize their product development processes by reducing time-to-market, and ensure compliance with industry standards."

Thanks to these collaborations, the Training Center within the Technology and Innovation Center will provide access to technologically advanced equipment, complemented by training programs conducted by field experts. Starting in 2024, these training sessions will be hosted by the above referenced industry leaders and possibly others, and will equip participants with invaluable theoretical and practical insights into the latest testing methodologies and techniques. By acquiring the knowledge and skills, they will be well-prepared to design and manufacture cutting-edge electronic products.

“In addition to its comprehensive training programs, the Technology and Innovation Center will foster collaboration, troubleshooting, meetings, and customer engagement. It will provide a wide range of solutions including EMC testing, product safety, environmental testing, power electronics, IP testing, laser testing, wireless testing, R&D testing, semiconductor testing, and mechanical testing,” shared Michael Cronin, Vice President of Sales at TÜV Rheinland North America.

TÜV Rheinland reaffirms its commitment to creating a safer and more sustainable world by developing innovative solutions for partners and customers across various industries on a national, regional, and global scale. Furthermore, the company is establishing a solid foundation for the future of testing and certification, aiming to provide an all-in-one customer space and accelerate market transformation.  To learn more about the Technology and Innovation Center and future trainings, and to explore how TÜV Rheinland’s cutting-edge facilities can empower your business, click here.
