ETS‑Lindgren Announces Technical Contributions to EMC+SIPI 2026

Automotive EMC, EMP, Compressed Sensing, Calibration, and Boresight Measurements to Be Presented at Leading IEEE Symposium

CEDAR PARK, Texas, July 23, 2026 — ETS‑Lindgren announced its technical contributions to the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Signal & Power Integrity (SIPI). The EMC+SIPI Symposium will be held in person from August 3 to 7, 2026, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. This year’s contributions, addressing a wide variety of topics, include four tutorials, one paper, as well as three experiments and demonstrations.

ETS‑Lindgren’s technical contributions begin on Monday, August 3, from 1:30 to 5:00 pm CDT. Garth D’Abreu, ETS‑Lindgren’s Director, Automotive Solutions, will present “Understanding the Highly Optimized Reverb Test Process” as an invited speaker in the Tutorial Session Application of Reverb Chambers. In parallel, Mr. D’Abreu will also present in and co-chair the Tutorial Session EMC Implications in Manned and Unmanned Vehicles —  Autonomy in Automotive and Other Industries, delivering “EMC Test Challenges Across Different Vehicle Platforms.” Additional speakers in this Tutorial represent industry leaders from Elite Electronic Engineering, dSPACE, and Nexperia. Robert Kado with Stellantis and Craig Fanning with Elite Electronic Engineering will co-chair this session with Mr. D’Abreu.

On Tuesday, August 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm CDT, ETS‑Lindgren will contribute to the popular Experiments and Demonstrations (E&D) Sessions located in the Exhibit Hall. In E&D Booth #2, ETS‑Lindgren’s Principal RF Engineer, Yibo Wang, will present “EMC Chamber Simulation vs Measurement.” He will be assisted by Zhong Chen and Jack McFadden, ETS‑Lindgren’s Chief Engineer and EMC Systems Engineer, respectively. Consultant Bob Mitchell will support the demonstration with data provided from chamber measurements taken at the TÜV Rheinland Technology & Innovation Center.

Wednesday, August 5, is a busy day for ETS‑Lindgren, with numerous presentations scheduled. The morning E&D Session features Dr. Wang and Mr. Chen presenting “Cylindrical Mode Filtered SVSWR” in E&D Booth #4 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm CDT. This demonstration will show a new method for EMC test site validation using the frequency range from 18 GHz to 40 GHz and complement Mr. Chen’s presentation “Antenna Calibration and Test Site Validation for Radiated Emissions from 18 GHz to 40 GHz: New Measurement Method Under Consideration by CISPR and ANSC C63 Standards,” scheduled for 1:30 to 5:00 pm CDT in the Tutorial Session Calibration of EMC Test Facilities and Measurement Instrumentation. Janet O’Neil, ETS‑Lindgren’s Customer Relationship Manager, will co-chair this session with Dennis Lewis of The Boeing Company, who is also a presenter in this session. Mr. Chen will co-present his second talk, “New Calibration Method for Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (LISNs) Under Consideration by ANSC C63 and CISPR,” with Consultant Mike Heckrotte; they join additional speakers in the session, including Leon Enriquez, ETS‑Lindgren’s Director, Field Services, who will present “Practical Aspects of Performing and Specifying Antenna and Field Probe Calibrations.” In parallel, Mr. Chen will also present “Compressed Sensing for EMC Applications” as an invited speaker in the Tutorial Session Machine Learning from 1:30 to 5:00 pm CDT. This Tutorial is sponsored by SC-3 Special Committee on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in EMC and SIPI. Rounding out the speaker list are international experts from De Montfort University, International Business Machines Corp, Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang University.

To conclude the activities on August 5, Tara Kellogg, ETS‑Lindgren’s Global Director, Business Development, will chair the IEEE EMC Society Women in Engineering Reception from 4:00 to 5:30 pm CDT. Ms. Kellogg has assembled notable speakers Nika Amralah with the Canadian Department of National Defence and Carey J. Jones with the United States Air Force (retired).

On Thursday, August 6, ETS‑Lindgren’s Product Line Technical Manager, RF Filters, Sergio Longoria, will present “Using Common Mode Three Phase Power Filters for HEMP Mitigation” in the Technical Papers Session Filters and Arresters for Electromagnetic Pulse Protection scheduled from 8:30 to 10:30 am CDT. In this session, sponsored by TC-5 on High Power Electromagnetics, Mr. Longoria joins an international roster of speakers from Sandia National Laboratories, Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Nexperia.

Also on Thursday, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm CDT, ETS‑Lindgren’s EMC Engineer, Ben Hodges, will co-present with Ethan Swanson of Element Materials Technology in E&D Booth #4 in the demonstration “Optimizing EMC Data Processing and Reporting Through Software Automation.” Frequent collaborators, Mr. Hodges and Mr. Swanson will showcase how modern automation techniques can significantly reduce the time and effort traditionally required to transition from measurement to documented results in EMC testing.

“Our comprehensive Technical Program features a wide range of in-depth sessions, including paper sessions where researchers present their latest findings. We’d like the attendees to consider the Symposium their professional sabbatical — a chance to recharge their skills with the latest design and measurement techniques,” said Mr. Chen, EMC+SIPI 2026 Symposium Chair. “And the Exhibit Hall will foster direct engagement between participants and industry leaders with Special Events, Experiments and Demonstrations, and exhibitor booths,” he adds.

ETS‑Lindgren has big plans this year with several new and exciting product launches and in-booth demonstrations scheduled for the Symposium! Visitors to Booth #209 can witness a demonstration of EMC Lab Software Solutions, including VisionTX™, VALET™ with the EMCam™ Camera System, and the latest update to TILE!™, version 8. This exciting new iteration of TILE! features the integration of Python™ software for added user convenience. Michael Christopher, ETS‑Lindgren’s Director, Software Engineering, will be on hand to conduct these live software demonstrations.

Additional planned demonstrations in Booth #209 include Radiated Emission Solutions, presented by Vic Hudson, ETS‑Lindgren’s Director, EMC Services, and Mr. McFadden. This demonstration showcases TILE! coupled with the Model 2171C Boresight Plus Antenna Positioning Tower. Participants interested in Automotive EMC will appreciate the demonstration of ISO 11451-5, Annex G Solutions, conducted by ETS‑Lindgren’s Larry Sheridan, EMC Systems Engineer, and Mr. D’Abreu. TILE!, EMCenter™ EM8, EMSense™ Platinum, and the Model 5903-HST High Speed Tuner are integrated in this demonstration.

Attendees can see the Model 3170 Intell-I-Tune™ Antenna Solution, designed for MIL-STD-461G/H RS103 compliance testing across the 30 MHz to 200 MHz frequency range. This Antenna achieves 200 V/m at 1 m from the fundamental frequency — not harmonics — which is one of the most difficult EMC challenges. Its patented algorithm-driven system uses stepper motors to optimize each element for every test frequency, ensuring true resonance, ultra-low SWR, and reduced amplifier strain. With hands-free tuning and stored frequency profiles, Model 3170 Intell-I-Tune provides faster, more accurate, and more efficient compliance testing.

The Model 2171C Boresight Plus Antenna Positioning Tower showcased in Booth #209 supports standards ANSI C63.4, C63.10, and C63.26 for tilt and boresight capabilities — including positive, negative, and non-tilt testing per CISPR 16. This Antenna Tower’s dual-belt design enables fully configurable tilt angles, while the compact motor base, optimized footprint, and built-in cable management make it ideal for tight EMC chamber spaces. Controlled directly via Ethernet, wireless remote, or optional touchscreen, Model 2171C integrates seamlessly with ETS‑Lindgren’s TILE! Software for precise, automated positioning.

Model EMSense™ Platinum E-Field Probe, ETS‑Lindgren’s high-speed, laser-powered E-Field Probe for frequencies from 20 MHz to 18 GHz, will be exhibited in Booth #209. The EMSense Platinum is designed for EMC and RF applications, where both accuracy and speed are essential. Unlike typical high-speed probes that sacrifice isotropy, it maintains exceptional isotropy across all frequencies, delivering precise and reliable measurements even in challenging mode-stirred or pulsed-field tests. EMSense Platinum provides real-time data with up to 2 million readings per second, with broad dynamic range and seamless EMC system integration for superior accuracy. Several models of the EMSense E-Field probe will be on view.

Visitors to Booth #209 will also receive an advance preview of ETS‑Lindgren’s Model 3188 Broadband Magnetic Dipole Antenna, designed for the 18 GHz to 40 GHz frequency range and < ±1.5 dB azimuthal symmetry over the entire band. A sister product to the vertically polarized Model 3185 Mini-Bicon, Model 3188 is the first horizontally polarized antenna of its kind on the market. With an anticipated release date of December 2026, this novel Antenna is designed to align with the upcoming ANSI C63.25.3 standard for EMC test site validation. While magnetic dipole antennas are rare at millimeter-wave frequencies, and traditional designs are narrowband — often requiring more than 10 antennas to span the 18 GHz to 40 GHz range — Model 3188 delivers true broadband performance in a single antenna while maintaining excellent pattern stability, making it ideal for demanding high frequency EMC applications.
