ETS-Lindgren Hosts Facility Tour for Central Texas Chapter of AFCOM

Tour on February 20 Showcases EMP and Acoustic Capabilities

Cedar Park, Texas – January 30, 2025 – ETS-Lindgren, the global leader in Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and Acoustic Testing Solutions, is hosting the Association for Computer Operations Management (AFCOM) Central Texas Chapter for a meeting and facility tour. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 20, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at ETS-Lindgren's corporate headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas, just 30 minutes north of downtown Austin. A complimentary buffet lunch is included, along with a tour of ETS-Lindgren’s nearly 140,000 sq ft manufacturing facility.

AFCOM is a professional association dedicated to advancing the careers of data center and IT infrastructure professionals. Founded in 1980, AFCOM is well known as a market leader in educating, connecting, and guiding the data center community at large. As part of its ongoing support of data centers around the world, ETS-Lindgren provides the expertise to design and install innovative Radio Frequency (RF) Shielding and Acoustic Solutions that not only protect critical infrastructure housed in data centers but offer acoustically quiet environments.

Whether it’s protection of critical infrastructure for the information technology industry, such as utilities (power, water, gas) or services (data, financial, communication), ETS-Lindgren’s experts have developed RF Shielding Solutions to defend against the threats posed by high-power electromagnetics (HPEM), high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP), and intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI). These dangers are becoming increasingly urgent for governments and industries worldwide, making the focus on the resiliency of critical infrastructures a top priority.

During the Facility Tour, attendees will see where the essential components for HPEM, HEMP, and IEMI protection — including Power, Data, Signal, and Control Line Filters — are designed and manufactured. These products provide safe and secure entry into the RF shielded and protected data center environment. Visitors will also see ETS-Lindgren's latest innovations in filter manufacturing.

A highlight of the Facility Tour showcases ETS-Lindgren’s extensive Acoustic Solutions.  Attendees will learn about the acoustic R&D conducted in the company’s inhouse Acoustic Test Chambers as well as the service capabilities offered by the NVLAP Accredited Acoustic Research Lab (NVLAP Code 100286-0). ETS-Lindgren Acoustic Solutions are designed to minimize interference from outside noise and vibration as well as maximize the insulating and privacy characteristics of building materials. Visitors will learn how the company works with integrators, architects, and engineers to create optimal data center acoustic environments, designed to meet the precision requirements of a specific application.

“Facility Tour attendees can expect to learn more about ETS-Lindgren's manufacturing and testing processes and see real-world examples of how our Solutions optimize modern data centers with protection against HPEM, HEMP, and IEMI threats as well as acoustically quiet environments,” said Tara Kellogg, Director, Business Development Healthcare, Industrial, Government, with ETS-Lindgren. “We will share our expertise with retrofitting existing data centers as well as our work with architects and contractors on turnkey Solutions for new data centers in order to meet and exceed our customers’ most stringent acoustic and critical requirements,” she added.
