ETS-Lindgren to Provide Keynote Address at Leading Automotive Symposium in India

International Symposium Attracts Global Automotive Experts to Pune

CEDAR PARK, Texas, December 18, 2018  ETS-Lindgren announced that Zhong Chen, Director of RF Engineering for ETS-Lindgren, will represent the company as a keynote speaker at the 2019 Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT 2019) located in Pune, India, January 16 to 18.  Mr. Chen will present "Advances in the Design of Anechoic Chambers for Today's Modern Vehicles."  As an industry leader in the design and installation of turnkey automotive test solutions, the presentation will provide the latest information on chamber design for the EMC and antenna pattern measurements required of today's increasingly sophisticated vehicles, such as electric and autonomous vehicles.  Topics discussed will include the limitations of absorbers, chamber design tradeoffs, and test methods available to validate the performance goals.  The presentation will discuss automotive test solutions for both industry and government applications.  For example, chamber designs for EMC applications typically specified in MIL-STD-461 for military applications as well as the automotive standards issued by CISPR, SAE and ISO for commercial applications will be reviewed.  A brief introduction will also be provided on the requirements of international standards applicable to automotive EMC chambers.

"We are seeing an increased interest in anechoic chamber designs for both EMC and antenna or radar measurements," said Mr. Chen.  "As a result, we will discuss basic design and these novel performance test and measurement requirements in the presentation, primarily in terms of the Free Space VSWR method, which is typically used for these chambers."  In addition to providing the keynote address, ETS-Lindgren will display its automotive EMC test and measurement solutions during the SIAT 2019 exhibition in Booth 22.

SIAT 2019 is organized by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and supported by SAE International, SAE India and NATRiP (India's National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project).  Rajasekharan N. K., Managing Director for ETS-Lindgren's Bengaluru facility, noted, "ETS-Lindgren is proud to support SIAT 2019.  We are very involved in the automotive industry here in India, having provided NATRiP's automotive chamber and now, with a recent contract award, we are pleased to provide the new automotive test chamber for ARAI.  We look forward to that project completion next year.  This project provides an excellent opportunity to further contribute to the "Make in India" program as we manufacture the RF shielded panels used for our chambers in India."

ETS-Lindgren will hold its popular ETS University (ETS-U) on Automotive EMC design and test considerations on February 5 to 7, 2019 in Santa Clara, California.  Taught by automotive industry experts, Professor Todd Hubing of Clemson University and LearnEMC, and Mr. Garth D'Abreu, Director of Automotive Solutions for ETS-Lindgren, the unique three day course features hands on demonstrations to reinforce the lecture material presented.  For the complete course agenda and registration information, click here.
