ETS-Lindgren Announces EMQuest Support of Agilent Technologies PXT Wireless Communications Test Set for LTE Over-the-Air Testing

CEDAR PARK, Texas, February 3, 2012 - ETS-Lindgren announced its EMQuest antenna measurement software now supports the Agilent E6621A PXT Wireless Communications Test Set, as part of its solution for Long Term Evolution (LTE) FDD-SISO and Over-the-Air (OTA) testing of wireless devices. With the EMQuest EMQ-100 and EMQ-109 LTE-SISO Expansion Package, TIS/TRP and throughput testing can also be performed.OTA testing is required per industry standards as part of the acceptance process for LTE devices. When used with ETS-Lindgrens Antenna Measurement System (AMS) - a fully anechoic RF enclosure including EMQuest antenna measurement software and instrumentation - the Agilent PXT performs OTA tests to industry standards and allows user equipment (UE) developers to characterize and optimize the behaviour of their designs. The EMQuest/PXT solution is offered with all ETS-Lindgren AMS for the testing of wireless devices. Included are the popular Models AMS-8500 and AMS-8600, as well as customized systems with Model numbers AMS-8800 and AMS-8900.In addition, R&D engineers who need to stress their 2G, 3G and 3.5G designs at the maximum data rates can do so with an ETS-Lindgren AMS, EMQuest software and Agilents E5515C 8960 Wireless Communications Test Set for 2G/3G/3.5G protocol support. Together, the ETS-Lindgren and Agilent solutions offer robust, repeatable and standards-compliant measurements for 2G/3G/3.5G/LTE (FDD SISO).The integrity of the test systems we offer depends substantially on the quality of the instruments that we select and support. We are proud to be working with Agilent, which established leadership in the wireless communications test industry with their flagship 2G and 3G product - the 8960 wireless test set - and continues this tradition for LTE with the PXT, said Bryan Sayler, Senior Vice President, Test Solutions, ETS-Lindgren. When coupled with the PXT, our EMQuest software offers a wide range of automated, fully parameterized test methods for measuring basic antenna performance metrics as well as testing both radiated and conducted performance of wireless devices.Weve been very pleased to collaborate with ETS-Lindgren to achieve this important milestone, said Andy Botka, Vice President and General Manager of Agilents Microwave and Communications Division. With this introduction, the Agilent PXT is now used in all major LTE UE test applications, including OTA. This collaboration is one more step in ETS-Lindgrens EMQuest software support of a growing range of Agilent wireless test instrumentation.ETS-Lindgrens EMQuest software provides the flexibility to meet the testing needs of designers of antennas for stand-alone applications, or those testing an embedded antenna system and radio module in accordance with industry standard OTA radiated performance test requirements. Supporting the Agilent PXT Wireless Communications Test Set represents a significant breakthrough in LTE UE testing. Now, flexible base station, network emulation and RF parametric tests are available in one integrated unit providing enhanced LTE test solutions for design development and verification.
