Antenna Measurement Experts Convene at New IEEE Workshop in Buenos Aires

CEDAR PARK, Texas – November 14, 2024 – ETS-Lindgren is pleased to announce its support of an inaugural event co-organized by the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), the Technical Committee on Antenna Measurements (TCAM) of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S), and the Joint Chapter AP-S and Electromagnetic Compatibility Society (EMC-S) of IEEE Argentina. Scheduled for Friday, November 22, 2024, at INTI in Buenos Aires, this foundational assembly features a one-day workshop to be held in person and online. The full-day Technical Program showcases extended presentations in the morning session by global experts on antenna measurements. These authorities include Vince Rodriguez, Adjunct Professor at University of Mississippi; Benoit Derat, Senior Director of Engineering with Rohde & Schwarz; Vikass Monebhurrun, Professor at CentraleSupélec; and Zhong Chen, Chief Engineer with ETS-Lindgren. The afternoon sessions shine a spotlight on invited local speakers, including Carolina Giuffrida, Pablo De Cesare, Julián Galván, Martin Salibe, Hugo Command, and Benjamim Galvão.

“ETS-Lindgren is proud to support this initial INTI/TCAM/AP-S/EMC-S workshop by serving as the primary sponsor and by lending the expertise of our Chief Engineer, Zhong Chen. As a past Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE EMC-S and current member of its Board of Governors, Zhong is well-known for his technical contributions toward advancing the state of the art in antenna measurements,” said Janet O’Neil, Customer Relations Manager with ETS-Lindgren. “If you’ve seen Zhong’s latest video featuring a live demo on Cylindrical Mode Filtered SVSWR measurements for test site validation and antenna calibration, you’ll have noted his passion to constantly improve and advance antenna measurement techniques. I’m sure the workshop attendees will appreciate his enthusiastic approach to learning!” she added.

ETS-Lindgren is also thrilled to support its EMC test chamber customer INTI in its assistance with TCAM’s educational efforts. “INTI has made this workshop a reality by providing significant management personnel in addition to the meeting location. Wearing my IEEE ‘hat’ as the EMC-S Vice President for Member Services, I can say our volunteers value the industry assistance provided by INTI,” said Ms. O’Neil.
