5GNR and Wireless Topics to Be Presented at International Microwave Symposium


CEDAR PARK, Texas – June 1, 2023 – ETS-Lindgren invites you to attend the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2023, the industry’s most significant microwave conference, to be held June 11 to 16 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.  Hosted by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S), the in-person symposium attracts some 9,000 attendees from more than 50 countries, as well as a record-breaking 650 exhibiting companies, making it the largest event dedicated to the radio frequency and microwave industry in the world. 


Jari Vikstedt, Director, Wireless Solutions with ETS-Lindgren, will present in the MicroApps Technical Program. Located on the Show Floor Booth #2447, these concise 15-minute presentations provide quick highlights on important topics.  On Tuesday, June 13, from 11:45 to 12:00 PDT, Mr. Vikstedt will present “Modern 5G Millimeter Wave Antenna Array Evaluation in Near- and Far-Field Environments.”  The presentation reviews a study investigating the possibility of using a smaller near-field measurement system to measure the antenna pattern of a modern millimeter wave phased antenna array accurately.  The near-field test system data is then compared to the far-field test system data collected in a typical Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR).  Measurements are made using continuous wave (CW) and modulated signals to evaluate whether the complexity of the waveform affects the results.  The goal of the study is to determine if correlation may be found between different methods to enable more compact and cost-effective test solutions for antenna evaluation.  Mr. Vikstedt welcomes any thoughts or experience you may be able to share on this topic.  Please attend the MicroApps seminar or visit him in ETS-Lindgren Booth #822 during the exhibition hours from 09:30 to 17:00 PDT on Tuesday, June 13; from 09:30 to 18:00 PDT on Wednesday, June 14; and from 09:30 to 15:00 PDT on Thursday, June 15.
