ETS-Lindgren Global Experts to Make Technical Contributions at the Joint APEMC 2023 and INCEMIC 2023 Conference on Electromagnetic Interference & Compatibility

Cedar Park, Texas – May 18, 2023 - The Joint APEMC 2023 and INCEMIC 2023 Conference on Electromagnetic Interference & Compatibility will be held in person from May 22 to 25, 2023, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel at Brigade Gateway in Bengaluru, India. The conference will bring together leading researchers, engineers, and practitioners in the fields of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

ETS-Lindgren, the global leader in EMC Test and Measurement Solutions, will be sponsoring and participating in this year's conference. ETS-Lindgren has been at the forefront of EMC innovation for over 75 years and continues to provide cutting-edge solutions to help customers achieve regulatory compliance. In addition to EMC, ETS-Lindgren will also address the wireless and automotive technologies in its conference technical talks and workshops.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this year's Joint APEMC 2023 and INCEMIC 2023 conference," said Andy Warner, President at ETS-Lindgren. "This event provides an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our latest products and services, as well as to connect with other leaders in the fields of electromagnetic interference and compatibility."

Customer Relations Manager at ETS-Lindgren Janet O’Neil has the distinction of delivering the conference’s Keynote Speech. “EMC Considerations in Emerging Technologies” will discuss the practice of addressing EMC earlier in the design process to avoid failure upon product certification. Ms. O’Neil has served the EMC industry in various leadership positions for longer than 35 years, most recently as the IEEE EMC Society Vice President of Member Services, and is honored to accept the invitation to speak to the assembly.

In the Technical Program, Garth D’Abreu, Director of Automotive Solutions at ETS-Lindgren, will conduct two lectures: "What's New with the EMC Tests for Vehicles" and “EMC Chambers for E-Vehicles: Implementation Options for E-Motor and E-Axle Test Systems.” The sessions will cover the latest updates and trends in EMC testing for vehicles, including changes in regulations and standards. Zhong Chen, Director of RF Engineering at ETS-Lindgren, will also be speaking twice. "EMC Anechoic Chamber Modeling and Design for Optimized Performance" and “Mode Filtered Site VSWR for Above 18 GHz EMC Site Evaluation Using Compressed Sensing” will address methods to improve test repeatability and lower measurement uncertainties. Visit our website to view our extensive selection of Chambers.

As part of the Chamber EMC module, Jari Vikstedt, Director of Wireless Solutions with ETS-Lindgren, will present “Modern 5G Millimeter Wave Antenna Array Evaluation in Near- and Far-Field Environments.” The talk will emphasize current and future 5G wireless communication. The ETS-Lindgren team will also contribute to the Workshop Program with the following presentations:

·          “Effective Test Methods to Validate EMC Performance of Electric Vehicles” by Mr. D’Abreu;

·          “Use of Hybrid Absorbers versus Standalone Pyramidal Absorbers in MIL-STD-461 Test Chambers” by Prince Charles, EMC Engineer at ETS-Lindgren;

·          “Insights into the New EMC Test Site Validation Requirements in ANSI C63 Standards’ by Mr. Chen; and

·          “Introduction to Over-the-Air (OTA) Testing and Applications” by Peter Huang, Senior RF Engineer at ETS-Lindgren, and Mr. Vikstedt.

After the conference, on Friday, May 26, 2023, Mr. Chen will present at an IEEE EMC Society Seattle and Bangalore Joint Chapter Meeting. His lecture "Mode Filtered Site VSWR for Above 18 GHz EMC Site Evaluation Using Compressed Sensing,” along with the other presentations, will address EMC measurement uncertainty and antenna characterization applications. Invited speakers in this workshop include John Ladbury of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), IEEE EMC Society President Vignesh Rajamani of Exponent, and Dennis Lewis of Boeing. This free onsite event includes a complimentary lunch and is open to both IEEE EMC Society members and nonmembers.
