ETS-Lindgren to Showcase RF Shielding Products and Services at Leading Conference for Medical Imaging Management – AHRA

CEDAR PARK, Texas, July 7, 2022 – ETS-Lindgren will display innovative products and services for MRI shielding at AHRA’s 50th Annual Meeting and Exposition from July 10 to 13 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  AHRA – The Association for Medical Imaging Management – represents management at all levels of hospital imaging departments, freestanding imaging centers, and group practices.  ETS-Lindgren’s ground-breaking products on display at AHRA 2022 include the EVO™ Series of MRI RF Shielded Doors as well as novel accessories such as ClearShield™ S-Glass, an Oxygen Monitoring System (OMS), and a portable handheld MRI Patient Scanner.  ETS-Lindgren’s engineers and service support team will also be on hand to discuss the company’s maintenance programs and consulting services.

“We are excited to return to AHRA and be able to meet with attending members face to face,” said Joel Kellogg, ETS-Lindgren's Global Director of Marketing.  “ETS-Lindgren is committed to partnering with AHRA’s medical imaging professionals.  We value our role in supporting the development of professional leadership in medical imaging management and supplying the products and services they need to advance technology in our industry.”

Visitors to ETS-Lindgren’s Exhibit Booth #605 on July 10 to 13 will see examples of the latest RF Shielding Solutions for facilities that house one of medicine’s most powerful diagnostic tools – MRI scanners.  A “cutaway” model on display provides an example of RF Shielded Enclosure construction for MRI facilities.  “For decades we have worked with the medical imaging community to provide products and services to support not only the MRI scanner, but also the imaging staff and their patients,” stated Mr. Kellogg.  “These powerful magnetic scanners require superior RF shielding to ensure peak performance, providing high-quality images for radiologists and their patients.  At AHRA, we appreciate our dialogue with healthcare facilities management professionals about our state-of-the-art products and services.”

For industry-leading MRI door technology, the EVO Series of MRI RF Shielded Doors are designed to provide reliable, low-maintenance service for use in rigorous MRI environments.  To facilitate access into and out of the MRI suite, this manual door is equipped with an easy-open, lever-style handle with minimal force required for operation.  Customers who are frustrated by opening and closing their cumbersome MRI doors are relieved by the low-friction, aesthetically pleasing EVO door.  With its low-profile, ADA-compliant threshold, the door facilitates effortless patient gurney transfers and easy cleaning, especially useful for surgical applications.  But perhaps the most important feature of the EVO door is its acoustic performance, with Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating choices of 28, 34, 40, and 44 (49 dB of sound reduction at frequencies of concern).  These ratings ensure a quieter, calmer environment near the MRI suite for staff and patients.

One of ETS-Lindgren’s latest developments, ClearShield S-Glass, provides a privacy option integrated into a high-performance RF window.  S-Glass utilizes Liquid Crystal (LC) technology within the window to provide a dynamic privacy option.  DMX controllers provide the ability to switch from clear to opaque or select the desired level of opaqueness, eliminating the need to clean and maintain unwieldly blinds.  Experience this LC technology, available on all ETS-Lindgren ClearShield Windows and Door Windows, in Booth #605.

To ensure the safety of MRI patients and healthcare facilities personnel, ETS-Lindgren's Oxygen Monitoring System (OMS) is a sample draw monitoring system that alerts and alarms when oxygen levels fall below safe limits for human health.  Under normal conditions, the air we breathe contains an oxygen concentration of 20.9%.  Anything less than 19.5% is considered a health hazard. The OMS monitors the air in MRI rooms, labs, freezers, confined spaces, and other locations where inert gases such as helium, nitrogen and argon may displace the oxygen and create a danger for patients and staff.  Featuring a maintenance-free Zirconium Sensor and average 10-year sensor life, the OMS can be used indoors or outdoors.  See the OMS on display in Booth #605 and learn more about its impressive performance capabilities.

ETS-Lindgren’s handheld MRI Patient Scanner is a portable metal detector that combines high sensitivity to ferromagnetic metals with immunity to non-ferromagnetic metals.  The MRI Patient Scanner has three analysis modes (Head, Body, and All-Metals) that are selectable via the easy-to-use keyboard interface.  Usage provides an indication of any metals present inside the patient and knowledge of their magnetic susceptibility prior to an MRI procedure.  With the results of the scan, as well as written and verbal questionnaires, MRI staff may evaluate the risk situation and be confident in making the most appropriate decisions for optimal patient and facility care.  Visitors to Booth #605 can see a live demo of the MRI Patient Scanner.
