ETS-Lindgren Announces Technical Contributions to EMC 2012

CEDAR PARK, Texas, June 11, 2012 - ETS-Lindgren announced its technical contributions to the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in Pittsburgh, PA. Symposium dates are August 5-10 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The contributions include presentations in four tutorials and an EMC test lab software demonstration. The tutorials start the morning of August 6 with ETS-Lindgrens Vince Rodriguez chairing and presenting in the tutorial, How Certain are you about Measurement Uncertainty Dr. Rodriguez will address antenna calibration related to uncertainty measurements and provide the results of a numerical study on the calibration of a dual ridge horn antenna. That afternoon, Zhong Chen of ETS-Lindgren will chair the tutorial, The Hype on Hybrid Antennas Dispelling the Controversy for Qualification Testing. Mr. Chen will present the comparison data from several EMC test labs using biconical and biconical/log periodic dipole array antennas. This data was collected as part of an ANSI C63, Subcommittee 1 C63.5 working group effort. On Friday morning, August 10, ETS-Lindgrens Doug Kramer will chair the tutorial titled, Recent Developments in EMC Testing of Wireless Devices The New Technologies Driving the Test Standards. Mr. Kramer will provide an introduction to Radiated Spurious Emission (RSE) Measurements. In addition to the ETS-Lindgren engineers presenting in these three tutorials, invited industry experts will provide presentations. For complete tutorial details, please see the technical program on the symposium website for the dates of August 6 and 10.Other technical content presented by ETS-Lindgren engineers at the symposium includes a presentation by Garth DAbreu in the Innovations in Automotive EMC Testing chaired by Todd Hubing of Clemson University on Monday morning, August 6. Mr. DAbreu will discuss the use of reverberation chambers for automotive EMC testing. Joe Tannehill will demonstrate TILE! - the premier EMC lab management software offering a smoother graphical interface and more user capability. (TILE! users - dont forget to attend the annual TUG meeting on Wednesday morning, August 8). And to improve your skills in the lab, representatives of ETS-Lindgrens ETS-U will be on-hand to discuss the EMC Fundamentals Course, with newly added courses on MIL-STD 461F and Wireless Over-The-Air (OTA) testing. Please visit us in Booth 501 at the symposium exhibition to learn more about these exciting new courses and see a TILE! demonstration. For more information on the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on EMC, visit 2012emc.org.
