ETS‑Lindgren Hosts CTIA Certification® Spring OTA F2F Meeting
CEDAR PARK, Texas – April 2, 2026 – ETS‑Lindgren, the Test and Measurement Solutions global leader, recently hosted the Spring Over-the-Air (OTA) Face-to-Face (F2F) meeting at its company headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas. Some 40 international experts in wireless test and measurement met from March 16 to 19, 2026, to discuss updates to CTIA Certification standards through the activities of the OTA, OTA Near Field Phantom, Reverberation Chamber, 5G mmWave OTA, and Wireless IoT Sub-Working Groups (SWGs), to name a few of the interactive meetings held. In addition to ETS‑Lindgren, CTIA Certification member companies represented included leading wireless device manufacturers, leading wireless carriers, phantom test device manufacturers, and wireless test laboratories.
“These CTIA OTA F2F meetings bring together the world’s experts in the wireless device ecosystem for nearly a week of in-depth discussion addressing evolving technologies,” said Edwin Mendivil, Principal RF Engineer with ETS‑Lindgren and Co-Chair for both the OTA Reverberation Chamber and MU SWGs, as well as Secretary of the 5G mmWave OTA SWG. “Our goal is to ensure our existing test-method standards are updated or that new standards are written to ensure emerging wireless products perform as intended. With this wide industry participation, we can address new wireless products and applications from a broad perspective.”
During the meeting, attendees participated in a Technical Tour of ETS‑Lindgren’s headquarters facility of some 170,000 sq ft (16,000 sq m) to experience the manufacturing areas and test labs. “ETS‑Lindgren developed the industry’s first OTA measurement plan and pioneered the world’s first CTIA-authorized test lab for mobile station OTA performance testing,” said Andy Chung, Director, Wireless Solutions with ETS‑Lindgren. “Meeting attendees saw our Wireless Lab where this performance testing started more than 25 years ago. Since then, we’ve developed Models AMS-8900, AMS-5703, SMART 200, and AMS-8700. The tour also included a stop at our A2LA-accredited Calibration Lab with Open Area Test Site and our 3m EMC Test Chamber where we perform R&D for product development as well as new site validation measurement techniques. In addition to being active technical contributors to the CTIA standards, our engineers contribute to CISPR, ISO, and ANSC C63® EMC standards. Our 3m EMC Test Chamber supports Test and Measurement Solutions for these new standards that address emerging technologies.”
A social event was also held during the meeting week at County Line BBQ on the Lake. This informal dinner provided an excellent opportunity to acknowledge the retirement of Mark Sargent, who has been with CTIA Certification for 25 years. ETS‑Lindgren was recognized with appreciation for having hosted five CTIA OTA meetings over the years and for hosting the enjoyable evening at County Line BBQ on the Lake: “We’re grateful to ETS‑Lindgren for hosting our Spring OTA F2F meetings, which provided an environment for engaging discussions and meaningful progress on industry initiatives, while also giving us the opportunity to celebrate CTIA Certification pioneer and longtime Vice President of Certification Programs Mark Sargent with a well-deserved retirement sendoff worthy of his dedication to the wireless industry,” declared Will Colbert, Director, Certification Program Management with CTIA Certification.
