ETS-Lindgren to Host Facility Tour for University of Texas at Austin Students

Tour on February 7 Features Acoustic, EMC, EMP, RF, and Wireless Capabilities

Cedar Park, TX – February 4, 2025 – ETS-Lindgren, the global leader of Test and Measurement Solutions for governmental, industrial, and commercial markets, is pleased to partner with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society Central Texas Chapter and the University of Texas at Austin’s (UT Austin) IEEE Student Chapter to provide an exclusive Lunch & Learn Talk & Tour. The event will be held on Friday, February 7, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at ETS-Lindgren's corporate headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas, just 30 minutes north of downtown Austin, and is open to IEEE members, student members, and their guests with advance registration. Transportation to the ETS-Lindgren facility from the UT Austin campus and back is included.

The IEEE EMC Society is the world’s largest organization dedicated to the development and distribution of information, tools, and techniques for reducing electromagnetic interference. It falls under the purview of the IEEE, whose mission is to advance technology for humanity, with its members inspiring a global community through highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE also serves student members in colleges and universities around the world, introducing technological careers to young people.

As part of ETS-Lindgren’s commitment to promoting STEM education and inspiring the next generation of engineers, this joint effort aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry applications. By showcasing the innovative engineering behind our testing solutions, we hope to ignite students’ passion for problem-solving and technological advancements.

Coordinated by Tara Kellogg, Director, Business Development Healthcare, Industrial, Government at ETS-Lindgren and IEEE EMC Society Central Texas Chapter Chair, the gathering will begin with a complimentary luncheon to be enjoyed during a presentation by Joel Kellogg, Global Director, Marketing at ETS-Lindgren. Mr. Kellogg’s talk will help students gain a deeper understanding of ETS-Lindgren’s design, manufacture, and engineering processes. Ms. Kellogg will then take the floor to conduct a brief IEEE EMC Society Central Texas Chapter Meeting covering the benefits of membership and the Society’s relationship with IEEE and IEEE Student Chapters. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions about all three organizations and potential career paths.

Next on the agenda is a guided tour of ETS-Lindgren’s nearly 140,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, including the A2LA-accredited laboratory, providing the guests with an in-depth look at our chambers and other key areas of our facility, offering valuable insights into our industry and technology. “We are excited to welcome UT Austin students and their guests to our facility and provide them with a firsthand look at the work we do,” said Ms. Kellogg. “This tour is a great opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, and we hope it inspires them as they explore careers in engineering and technology.”
