GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Illinois, August 11, 2008- The Bayhealth Medical Center is southern Delaware's largest healthcare system, comprised of two hospitals and numerous other medical facilities such as Smyrna Clayton Medical Services. This facility is undergoing a 100,000 square foot expansion which includes the first worldwide installation of Hitachi's Oasis™ High-Field Magnetic Resonance imaging system. The Oasis is a high-performance, 1.2T open MRI that provides maximum diagnostic performance and a high level of patient comfort. ETS-Lindgren shielding technology was also used at another new Oasis site, St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. ETS-Lindgren's active cancellation system is the only one approved by Hitachi for the Oasis system.
ETS-Lindgren contributed its expertise to this facility expansion through the design and installation of an MRI medical suite. Key features of the suite include copper shielding, a cell type floor, remote silicon steel shielding, LED down lights, and most notably, one of ETS-Lindgren's Auto-Seal™ II Doors. This MRI RF door system is the standard RF door for MR suites with leading-edge image technology. It uses compressed air to actuate several cylinders which create an RF seal around the door perimeter. The flat door threshold allows for smooth patient gurney movement.
