FERROSORB FS-200 is the latest addition to the FS Family of hybrid (ferrite tile and carbon loaded material) absorbers from ETS-Lindgren. The FAA-200 loaded foam part is designed to match the impedance of ETS-Lindgren’s ferrite tile panel FT-1500. When combined these two absorber technologies become the FS-200 absorber system.
The absorber has a very broad band range of 30 MHz to 40 GHz, meeting the required range for MIL-STD 461 and CISPR 25.
Only 20 cm high (8 inches), this absorber has very low profile yet it has excellent absorption for the entire range of frequencies. The absorber ships in standard 60 cm x 60 cm (23.6 in. x 23.6 in.) pieces with 36 truncated pyramids per piece.
The FAA-200 material is designed to provide absorption at low frequencies provided that it is used with a ferrite tile backing as part of the FS-200 absorber system.
Like other ETS-Lindgren absorb-ers, the FS-200 can handle up to 775 W/m 2 (0.5 w/in 2 ) CW power density (540 V/m) in RF and MW frequencies. For periods less than 10 minutes, the absorber can safely handle up to 2650 W/m 2 (1.7 W/in 2 ) power density (1000 V/m).
Maximum service temperature is 90° Celsius (190° F) continuous.
This absorber meets the fire retardant standards of NRL 8093 Tests 1, 2, 3, MIT MS-8-21, UL 94, and DIN 4102-B2: Tests for Flammability. FS-200 has an ASTM E84-84 flame-spread index of 35 and a smoke developed index of 450.
FS-200 meets the absorption requirements of MIL-STD 461 E/F and RTCA DO 160, as well as CISPR 25. It can also be used to cover non-critical areas on FACTTM Chambers.
